WHHHYYYYYYY.....? Its beautiful exterior and chic design is a fascade. A fascade that will haunt you while you wonder how could something be so beautiful yet so damn useless.
Lemme go through the good qualities. [Sigh]
Positives
1. So purty... People's eyes do light up when they see the shining Prada logo. It is a beautiful device, with just enough weight to make you feel like you didn't just spend a ridiculous amount of money for a worthless plastic device with wires inside. Which is what it would be if it didn't have Prada on it. In fact, had this been a regular LG phone, I would have demanded a refund and jumped ship the first week I got it. But alas in the land of reality, the devil Prada wears you.
2. The keyboard is really nice. It's much easier to use than a touchscreen keyboard, and you can make edits to the things your write much faster
3. There is an inside camera for self+friend glamour shots if you're Asian.
4. The ringtones and screensavers makes you feel like you're more artistic and fashionable than all your friends. The ringtones and sounds are catwalk-worthy, and the abstract, avante-garde screensavers are pretty fresh.
5. The inside menus have a really cool animation. They never fail to amuse me.
6. The vibrating when you touch everything is kinda cool. And you can copy and paste.
7. Camera isn't half bad.
8. It comes in a beautiful box, which, again, makes you feel better about the fact that YOU JUST BOUGHT A PIECE OF CRAP.
As you can see, I'm running out of good things to say about it. So on to the bad.
Negatives
1. Web browsing. OMFG. Not only can you not see jack squat on the screen since its too small, the screen becomes unresponsive when you try to select links. and when you try to [or accidentally] zoom in, the screen expands so you're looking at like 5 words in your entire screen. The zooming goes to extremes, making it almost impossible to use. Check movie tickets? Check the weather? Looking for restaurants? NOT with the built in web browser. To actually USE the data plan you're spending so much money on, you have to DL another web browser, like m.operamini.com, which is better, but not the best. HATE to be comparing this to the iphone, but Apple got one thing right, and their browser makes Prada 2's look like the deformed cousin locked in the basement.
2. Keeps. Bloody. Freezing. On. Me. WTF?
3. Menu options are overly confusing. There are way too many options separated in too many sections. Trying to change your settings, or actually get your internet or MMS or anything else to WORK is a bitch, esp when you're not a giant phone geek.
4. While bulkiness makes you feel like you bought something worthwhile, it gets kinda tiring to haul around. Its like as thick as a whiteboard eraser, and about has heavy as a heavy duty stapler. I'm talking about those staplers that can take down 50 page reports. If you threw the phone at someone, you could give them a bloody nose/ lip.
5. User manual is useless. Utterly, uniformly, ultimately useless.
6. Comes with a "leather" case with prada craved/ printed/ melted on the side. Why melted? Because the case, I'm pretty sure, is plastic. Smells like plastic, feels like plastic, but all the online reviews say leather. Did I get jipped of my leather case?
7. The slide out keyboard can be wobbly; makes you worry about the longevity of your phone.
8. Camera button= impossible to press down on, thanks to the way the slide out keyboard is right next to it.
9. Everytime you type in a web address, you have to go through this really dumb process of selecting the screen, keying it, and selecting the screen again. WHY all the trouble? geesh.
10. When you enter in your password and you screw up, and you can't delete it, you have to jump to the previous screen and then come back to retype. The hell?
11. Youtube only works on Wifi, not data. [aggravation]
12. Since its an "International" Phone, getting the advanced settings to work is a bitch. And by advanced, I mean basic things like going online, sending MMSes, etc. If I haven't made this clear, LG customer service is useless.
13. Reception is pretty bad. Then again, I have Tmobile, so it might be a tmobile thing.
I'll be sure to add to this list as I fume over my annoying, overpriced, but oh so beautiful phone...
